What if you survived war as a child and were separated from your family for a lifetime?
These pages stem from more than 20 years of daughter to Father interviews and portray the universal language of love. Contained within is a true story of the devastating division of Korea told through my Father's life. He escaped and survived, then spent his life yearning to see his family again. Letters from his sister and her children in the North were the only things they had of each other. When he left at 11 years old, they could not have known that they would never see each other again.
This book contains something for everyone. Historical accounts, romance, survival, and family...as well as the poetry of hope and ultimately
the human experience.

WHAT READERS ARE SAYING
Korea United is a heartrending story of a people and a culture separated by politics, war, & the whims of the international community. Author Irene Kim has recorded the trials & angst suffered by her father, whose life & that of his family were devastated by what had happened in Korea since partition.

A lifelong appreciation for familial bonds, history, & heritage, in contrast with the way many of us live today.
Something that stood out as remarkably timely is the universal depiction of the emotional & cultural turbulence faced by immigrants.
